    Are you a birth worker with VBAC experience?

    A Vaginal Birth After a Cesarean, or a VBAC, is a safe and empowering option for most Women who have undergone a previous Cesarean Birth.  The culture surrounding VBAC's though can be a bit difficult to navigate, a bit confusing, and above all, overwhelming!  Be it family, friends or professionals, everyone seems to have an opinion, and all too often one opinion conflicts with another. 

    The VBAC Support Group is a safe place for Moms (and professionals in the Birth World) to gather with the purpose of giving and receiving information and support around the many joys and challenges of VBACs!  Ask questions, share resources, heal and inspire through experience, all while connecting with other Moms who are walking down a similar path. 

    Each group will include a topic discussion as well as an open forum. Discussions include topics such as; asking for support, birth preparation, HBAC and WBAC, birth art, doulas, managing the naysayers and much more.  I encourage you to bring something to write in…it is nice to have somewhere to record thoughts, feelings, questions, and inspirations while on your journey through pregnancy, birth and parenting.  I will also have journals available for purchase.

    The working mom's circle is a networking group of sorts reaching out to all the working mamas who wish to share stories, tricks, tips, secrets, and anything else about life. We will discuss a new topic each visit which may include maintaing balance in the household, relationships - including yourself, your partner/spouse, your family & friends - exercise, weight loss and increasing metabolism, time management, meal preparation - with recipe sharing and the-evening-of quick meal fixes...and, of course, having fun!

    Being a Mom is hard work, and when you have a regular job (either in or out of the home) that pulls your attention away from your family; life can become even more complicated and challenging. There will be time at each circle to ask questions if you come with anything specific in mind, but each evening will have a topic to help you explore and expand, gain balance and freedom.

    These 2 nights a month are a time you can take for yourself to connect with other women who are working just as hard as you. The flow of the group is very fluid. It will change and evolve as the needs of the participants warrant it to.

    You are welcome to bring your baby if you wish, however we have scheduled it late enough that it might be a nice time just for yourself to grab a cup of tea or coffee and come chat with this fabulous group of women.

    Live Safe Training is a Self Defense class specifically created for girls ages 9-13yrs and 13-17yrs of age.

    This class is a follow-up to the first Live Safe Training and is a combined group of girls, young women and parents. It will include practical self defense without any experience needed.

    The description of the 1st Live Safe Training is below:

    The class will focus on the ABS’s of Conflict Avoidance. It will focus on Principle over Technique…meaning the girls will learn tools for Conflict Avoidance, Bullying, making safe choices as well as some techniques to help create opportunities for escape in the event it becomes necessary.

    The class will be taught for the specific age ranges above in a 1 hour format for each age group. The two classes will talk specifically about the typical environments that 9-13yr olds and 13-17yr olds are frequently in and/or introduced to.

    It is a fact of “our time” that 1 out of 3 girls/women will experience assault of some sort in their lifetime. It is our intention to empower girls by providing them with principles and techniques to help them keep themselves safe. Girls will gain knowledge on how to get away with the least amount of force and/or harm by learning Self Defense. They will learn to be aware of their surroundings and to keep themselves out of potentially dangerous situations. They will learn how to create opportunities for escape as well as basic wrist release techniques.

     Come and support your daughters, nieces, friends in their learning and learn along with them. Share and encourage friends and family to bring their daughters too! Together we are helping our girls grow into empowered young women…building confidence and self-esteem.

    A Vaginal Birth After a Cesarean, or a VBAC, is a safe and empowering option for most Women who have undergone a previous Cesarean Birth.  The culture surrounding VBAC's though can be a bit difficult to navigate, a bit confusing, and above all, overwhelming!  Be it family, friends or professionals, everyone seems to have an opinion, and all too often one opinion conflicts with another. 

    The VBAC Support Group is a safe place for Moms (and professionals in the Birth World) to gather with the purpose of giving and receiving information and support around the many joys and challenges of VBACs!  Ask questions, share resources, heal and inspire through experience, all while connecting with other Moms who are walking down a similar path. 

    Each group will include a topic discussion as well as an open forum. Discussions include topics such as; asking for support, birth preparation, HBAC and WBAC, birth art, doulas, managing the naysayers and much more.  I encourage you to bring something to write in…it is nice to have somewhere to record thoughts, feelings, questions, and inspirations while on your journey through pregnancy, birth and parenting.  I will also have journals available for purchase.

    The working mom's circle is a networking group of sorts reaching out to all the working mamas who wish to share stories, tricks, tips, secrets, and anything else about life. We will discuss a new topic each visit which may include maintaing balance in the household, relationships - including yourself, your partner/spouse, your family & friends - exercise, weight loss and increasing metabolism, time management, meal preparation - with recipe sharing and the-evening-of quick meal fixes...and, of course, having fun!

    Being a Mom is hard work, and when you have a regular job (either in or out of the home) that pulls your attention away from your family; life can become even more complicated and challenging. There will be time at each circle to ask questions if you come with anything specific in mind, but each evening will have a topic to help you explore and expand, gain balance and freedom.

    These 2 nights a month are a time you can take for yourself to connect with other women who are working just as hard as you. The flow of the group is very fluid. It will change and evolve as the needs of the participants warrant it to.

    You are welcome to bring your baby if you wish, however we have scheduled it late enough that it might be a nice time just for yourself to grab a cup of tea or coffee and come chat with this fabulous group of women.

    A Vaginal Birth After a Cesarean, or a VBAC, is a safe and empowering option for most Women who have undergone a previous Cesarean Birth.  The culture surrounding VBAC's though can be a bit difficult to navigate, a bit confusing, and above all, overwhelming!  Be it family, friends or professionals, everyone seems to have an opinion, and all too often one opinion conflicts with another. 

    The VBAC Support Group is a safe place for Moms (and professionals in the Birth World) to gather with the purpose of giving and receiving information and support around the many joys and challenges of VBACs!  Ask questions, share resources, heal and inspire through experience, all while connecting with other Moms who are walking down a similar path. 

    Each group will include a topic discussion as well as an open forum. Discussions include topics such as; asking for support, birth preparation, HBAC and WBAC, birth art, doulas, managing the naysayers and much more.  I encourage you to bring something to write in…it is nice to have somewhere to record thoughts, feelings, questions, and inspirations while on your journey through pregnancy, birth and parenting.  I will also have journals available for purchase.

    The working mom's circle is a networking group of sorts reaching out to all the working mamas who wish to share stories, tricks, tips, secrets, and anything else about life. We will discuss a new topic each visit which may include maintaing balance in the household, relationships - including yourself, your partner/spouse, your family & friends - exercise, weight loss and increasing metabolism, time management, meal preparation - with recipe sharing and the-evening-of quick meal fixes...and, of course, having fun!

    Being a Mom is hard work, and when you have a regular job (either in or out of the home) that pulls your attention away from your family; life can become even more complicated and challenging. There will be time at each circle to ask questions if you come with anything specific in mind, but each evening will have a topic to help you explore and expand, gain balance and freedom.

    These 2 nights a month are a time you can take for yourself to connect with other women who are working just as hard as you. The flow of the group is very fluid. It will change and evolve as the needs of the participants warrant it to.

    You are welcome to bring your baby if you wish, however we have scheduled it late enough that it might be a nice time just for yourself to grab a cup of tea or coffee and come chat with this fabulous group of women.

    The pure joy experienced when wrapping a hand painted scarf around the head of a woman going through chemotherapy is profound.  This way of giving your heart to someone while providing the basic needs of covering a chemo challenged head is an experience that I felt needed to be shared, as did the need to create more scarves than time allowed this working fiber artist.  Empowerment happens for those learning to paint and continues with the act of sharing something so personal with someone in need. 

    Please join us on Saturday May 5th at the Red Tent for a free class to paint a scarf for someone you know going through chemotherapy.  No artistic skills are necessary, just the desire to make a woman feel loved and beautiful with the gift of your creation. 

    Class starts at 2pm, please wear suitable clothing in which to paint and bring rubber gloves if you are attached to having clean hands.  All other materials are provided due to the generous support of Dye Na Flow Fabric Paints and other patrons of this program.  If you want to bring a refreshment to share with others it will undoubtedly be appreciated.

    A casual way to learn about home birth midwifery care 
    and meet the midwives working in your community.  Join 
    us for tea and a circle discussion to exploration the option 
    of delivering your child at home.  Mingling with the  midwives 
    will follow after general questions have been answered as a 
    group.  

    First introductions to be made on September 14th, 2011
    This will be a quarterly event held on the first Wednesday 
    of the month in December, March, June, and September 
    from 6 to 8pm at RED TENT in Los Gatos.

    Suggested donations: $5-10
