So...I walked to my children's school this morning to drop off a form for my son. I decided to walk home the "long" way to get a bit more of a walk in. While walking the strangest thing happened...I had my eyes down toward the sidewalk for a moment and thought that I noticed someone on the sidewalk ahead of me coming my direction...so close actually that I moved to the side to allow for the person to pass me by. It all happened very quickly...that I realized there was no one there. It felt very strange because it truly seemed that there was someone there. I continued on my walk with a complete shift of my thoughts and awareness to how small I am in the scheme of the world and its history and its future. How short we spend on this earth in this life we are in right now. Who was here....literally, walking this path through the neighborhood, before me? Who lived in these homes and has since passed? What did they leave behind? What am I doing? How am I living? How am I being? What type of legacy do I want to leave? I suppose this has been on my mind a lot lately as I have been led in these directions the past few years...stronger and stronger with each passing month it seems. It has led me to join the Global Seva Challenge India 2012 which is a program through Off The Mat, Into The World. It has caused me to reach beyond my own immediate community and out to women and children in India and around the world. To support, raise awareness and ultimately significant funds to help support those working to rescue and rehabilitate those enslaved in the Sex Trafficking Industry.

My purpose...has been and is still...to empower women and girls. The Sex Trafficking industry, 3rd largest Criminal Industry in the world, is stripping women and children of their power. How can I stand by, knowing that this is such an enormous problem, and do nothing.

I suppose this is my legacy....perhaps one of many in my lifetime. My purpose....is to Empower Women and Girls and Children and to support and help those who have been truly stripped/robbed of their own.

    Will you support me?

My goal is to raise $20,000.00 by mid-December. If you all donated just $50....I would meet my goal.

You can find more information about the Global Seva Challenge, a program of Off the Mat into the World, by clicking the image below.

If you choose to donate, you may do so directly on the Off The Mat, Into The World website. You will find an option to choose a participant name...you would scroll down to my name, Jennifer Penick, choose it and continue on with the process.

This is my purpose and my legacy. Will it be part of yours as well? Will you join me by donating to this cause, in my name?

What a beautiful and powerful evening at The Red Tent! From the candlelight, fresh fruit and chocolate, beautiful Healing Henna corner to the incredible Tea "Bar" in the center of the Red Tent....absolutely beautiful!

To watch women meet, talk, hug, laugh, cry, share stories...their lives...while relaxing and sipping tea...or while watching their henna design unfold and "become". Simply put....WOW. We women...are amazing...

A special thank you out to Robyn of Healing Henna and to Athena for serving and sharing the stories of all the varieties of teas that you so mindfully and beautifully prepared....Thank you.

    Om shanti peace...tonight...and always.

So....yesterday my kids and I had a super fabulous day together! We ended with a great dinner out at a restaurant....which we very rarely do with 5 kids in tow....one being a feisty 3 year old. I took 4 by myself....including the feisty 3yr old. We had a great time. I had let go and decided we would just go and not worry about "time". The plan was to get up today and go to the ocean for the day...play on the sand, collect sea shells and get our Salt Water Taffy. Then we were planned to have henna together and then come home and enjoy a fire in the firepit with smores after dinner!

Instead....the littlest feisty 3 year old awoke at 2:30am with a fever and screaming ;-(. I scooped her up and curled up in my bed with her. Her fever this morning at 7am was 103.5....there goes the ocean ;-(. Such a huge bummer! We were all looking forward to the day!

The kids are sooooo amazing and flexible. The move with the waves and the wind (most of the time). They truly are my greatest teacher on attachment. We have put plan B into action! (a created on the fly plan B) We will, instead, stay in jammies all day, and watch movies from mom's bed TOGETHER! WOW! perhaps that is all they wanted to begin with....mom to hang with them....so...signing off the computer now....I wouldn't have taken it to the ocean....so I can be off of it from home today. Right? Right!

Love and Light to all of you today.....

lesson for the day....let go....and enjoy the flow
