Working Mom's Circle

1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month

The Red Tent in Los Gatos

    The working mom's circle is a networking group of sorts reaching out to all the working mamas who wish to share stories, tricks, tips, secrets, and anything else about life. We will discuss a new topic each visit which may include maintaing balance in the household, relationships - including yourself, your partner/spouse, your family & friends - exercise, weight loss and increasing metabolism, time management, meal preparation - with recipe sharing and the-evening-of quick meal fixes...and, of course, having fun!
  

    Being a Mom is hard work, and when you have a regular job (either in or out of the home) that pulls your attention away from your family; life can become even more complicated and challenging. There will be time at each circle to ask questions if you come with anything specific in mind, but each evening will have a topic to help you explore and expand, gain balance and freedom.
  

    These 2 nights a month are a time you can take for yourself to connect with other women who are working just as hard as you. The flow of the group is very fluid. It will change and evolve as the needs of the participants warrant it to.
  

    You are welcome to bring your baby if you wish, however we have scheduled it late enough that it might be a nice time just for yourself to grab a cup of tea or coffee and come chat with this fabulous group of women.

Single, divorced, widowed, teen-mom, adoption or any other wonderful way you became a mother, we honor and support each other for our choice and desire to raise a beautiful child.

Are you a birth worker with VBAC experience?

A Vaginal Birth After a Cesarean, or a VBAC, is a safe and empowering option for most Women who have undergone a previous Cesarean Birth. The culture surrounding VBAC's though can be a bit difficult to navigate, a bit confusing, and above all, overwhelming! Be it family, friends or professionals, everyone seems to have an opinion, and all too often one opinion conflicts with another.

The VBAC Support Group is a safe place for Moms (and professionals in the Birth World) to gather with the purpose of giving and receiving information and support around the many joys and challenges of VBACs! Ask questions, share resources, heal and inspire through experience, all while connecting with other Moms who are walking down a similar path.

Each group will include a topic discussion as well as an open forum. Discussions include topics such as; asking for support, birth preparation, HBAC and WBAC, birth art, doulas, managing the naysayers and much more. I encourage you to bring something to write in…it is nice to have somewhere to record thoughts, feelings, questions, and inspirations while on your journey through pregnancy, birth and parenting. I will also have journals available for purchase.

An Intimate monthly circle based on the spirit of the Red Tent to discuss Maturing into Womanhood

Specific Friday evenings, 7:00-9:30pm

$25.00 per mother/daughter pair

All circles will include an opening meditation, sharing of stories, fact-based information, chocolate and other decadent goodies, and time for (anonymous) questions. This is a safe space for girls and their mothers to start these important, yet often difficult, discussions in a group of caring, supportive women.

Please feel free to bring edibles and beverages to share.

When: Every other Thursday beginning April 5th, 2012

Time: 11 am - 12:30 pm

Where: The Red Tent

Cost: $10-20 sliding scale

Remember when we first had babies, and we could choose from any number of moms groups to get our questions answered, get support and just hear "me too". Then we had toddlers and the choices were far more limited. Now our kids are in school and besides reading a few blogs, or talking to our friends, there are few places to voice our concerns, ask our questions and hear "me too". Now there is a place, where all of this and more can happen. Announcing a Mothers group for moms of school aged children at The Red Tent in Los Gatos.

Come have a cup of tea, take some time out of your car and your busy life to talk to other moms about the challenges, trials and tribulations of parenting kids in elementary school.

This group will be facilitated by Carrie Whitaker, MSW and will meet every other Thursday from 11-12:30.

Cost: sliding scale $10-20 per session. Drop-in.
